Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daði Gabríelsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Daði Gabríelsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tór Pálmason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Þorleikur Erlingsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herfinnur Boðason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Snorri Geirsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Maurarnir Öræfi's goal looked a bit too open when Þorleikur Erlingsson came free, but Tór Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 played minutes Maurarnir Öræfi got a freekick which was hit by Elinór Viðarsson. After 13 minutes, Erlar Orrason made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Maurarnir Öræfi's Tór Pálmason tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tór Pálmason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Þorleikur Erlingsson in the 18th minute of play. Erlar Orrason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Þorleikur Erlingsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tór Pálmason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Snorri Geirsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Herfinnur Boðason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Maurarnir Öræfi's goal looked a bit too open when Þorleikur Erlingsson came free, but Tór Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Erlar Orrason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Þorleikur Erlingsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tór Pálmason was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Greind Þórshöfn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erlar Orrason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Þorleikur Erlingsson made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Maurarnir Öræfi's goal looked a bit too open when Þorleikur Erlingsson came free, but Tór Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Þorleikur Erlingsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Greind Þórshöfn's supporters rose to their feet, but Þorleikur Erlingsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tór Pálmason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Þorleikur Erlingsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 57 played minutes Greind Þórshöfn got a freekick which was hit by Ástbjörn Tómasson. Snorri Geirsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Herfinnur Boðason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erlar Orrason struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tór Pálmason didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Greind Þórshöfn. 66 minutes into the match, Maurarnir Öræfi's Daði Gabríelsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herfinnur Boðason narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daði Gabríelsson in the 68th minute of play forced Greind Þórshöfn's goalkeeper Herfinnur Boðason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Maurarnir Öræfi booed when Greind Þórshöfn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolf Alexandersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erlar Orrason took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tór Pálmason. Tór Pálmason dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 83rd minute Daði Gabríelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herfinnur Boðason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elinór Viðarsson's late challenge caught a Greind Þórshöfn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elinór Viðarsson helped the player get up and apologised. Elinór Viðarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Ástbjörn Tómasson, 86 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tór Pálmason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erlar Orrason's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Herfinnur Boðason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daði Gabríelsson in the 89th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Þorleikur Erlingsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tór Pálmason was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Greind Þórshöfn were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Maurarnir Öræfi for a fine match.
