Spectators: 6782 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kristvaldur Margrímsson got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Kópavör Flúðum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dýrmundur Þórsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute Kristvaldur Margrímsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lórenz Játmundsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hildigeir Svavarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute, Rikharð Ingvarsson collided with one of Kópavör Flúðum's players - so bad that he fractured his nose. 42 minutes into the game, Hergill Hallbjörnsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kópavör Flúðum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KE Hvolsvelli the free kick. Hringur Snæbjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 played minutes Kópavör Flúðum got a freekick which was hit by Dýrmundur Þórsson.

Hringur Snæbjörnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Reynir Geirsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KE Hvolsvelli's Angi Ragnarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adólf Harðarsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lórenz Játmundsson having to make a save. Kristvaldur Margrímsson struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Lórenz Játmundsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kópavör Flúðum. Hringur Snæbjörnsson struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Reynir Geirsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KE Hvolsvelli. If Hringur Snæbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hringur Snæbjörnsson had several of the Kópavör Flúðum's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 73 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Reynir Geirsson as he didn't even see the shot coming. After having played for 80 minutes, Adólf Harðarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kópavör Flúðum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adólf Harðarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lórenz Játmundsson came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Kópavör Flúðum's Kristvaldur Margrímsson. But to his dismay, Kristvaldur Margrímsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 85 minutes into the match, Kópavör Flúðum's goalkeeper Reynir Geirsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hringur Snæbjörnsson. Hringur Snæbjörnsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Reynir Geirsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Adólf Harðarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in KE Hvolsvelli's zone, Adólf Harðarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lórenz Játmundsson came out of the goal and Adólf Harðarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kópavör Flúðum had won after a very even match.
