Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Akkur Flúðum's Dvalinn Steinsson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Geir Mánason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Végeir Geirfinnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Freymundur Finnbogason got free with Daríus Sigmundarson in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elverk Vogum's Daríus Sigmundarson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Þorlaugur Kjartansson in the 6th minute of play. Daríus Sigmundarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Þorlaugur Kjartansson in the 10th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Elverk Vogum got a freekick which was hit by Kristþór Viðarsson. A collision led to Elverk Vogum getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Kristþór Viðarsson hit a great ball. When Herleifur Baugsson came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Akkur Flúðum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herleifur Baugsson couldn't finish the play. After 16 played minutes Elverk Vogum got a freekick which was hit by Gottskálk Þengilsson. 17 minutes into the match, Dvalinn Steinsson notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Elverk Vogum's Daríus Sigmundarson. Daríus Sigmundarson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, Þorgarður Arnljótsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Végeir Geirfinnsson. Akkur Flúðum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Þorgarður Arnljótsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Daríus Sigmundarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Þorlaugur Kjartansson in the 25th minute of play. Végeir Geirfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geir Mánason in the 27th minute of play. Þorlaugur Kjartansson scored 2-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daríus Sigmundarson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dvalinn Steinsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Daríus Sigmundarson made a huge save. Geir Mánason's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Végeir Geirfinnsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play.
Daríus Sigmundarson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dvalinn Steinsson in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, Elverk Vogum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jósteinn Jakobsson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Elverk Vogum booed when Akkur Flúðum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friðþór Alexandersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Végeir Geirfinnsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geir Mánason in the 66th minute. After 67 played minutes Akkur Flúðum got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Eðvarsson. Þorgarður Arnljótsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Végeir Geirfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Þorgarður Arnljótsson in the 73rd minute of play. Gunnröður Aðalsteinsson hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Illugi Ingólfsson in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daríus Sigmundarson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Akkur Flúðum's Jörgen Eðvarsson got a free kick in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Þorlaugur Kjartansson in the 86th minute of play forced Elverk Vogum's goalkeeper Daríus Sigmundarson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Herleifur Baugsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Akkur Flúðum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elverk Vogum the free kick. Þorgarður Arnljótsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Végeir Geirfinnsson. Akkur Flúðum's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Akkur Flúðum's zone, Þorgarður Arnljótsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Végeir Geirfinnsson came out of the goal and Þorgarður Arnljótsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Akkur Flúðum had played much better football throughout.
