In the 7th minute, Elínbergur Þorsteinsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krister Þrándsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elínbergur Þorsteinsson's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Ragnar Ráðgeirsson put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Krister Þrándsson. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ragnar Ráðgeirsson in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Krister Þrándsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dælur Reykjavík's Ragnar Ráðgeirsson got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Dælur Reykjavík getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ragnar Ráðgeirsson hit a great ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Ragnar Ráðgeirsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Samsýn Hólmavík's Krister Þrándsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ragnar Ráðgeirsson sped through Samsýn Hólmavík's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Krister Þrándsson. Ragnar Ráðgeirsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Krister Þrándsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ragnar Ráðgeirsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Elínbergur Þorsteinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Krister Þrándsson having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Samsýn Hólmavík's goal looked a bit too open when Ragnar Ráðgeirsson came free, but Krister Þrándsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ragnar Ráðgeirsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Þórmundur Þorvaldsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hagalín Olgeirsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Elínbergur Þorsteinsson came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Dælur Reykjavík fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elínbergur Þorsteinsson couldn't finish the play. Bjargþór Ævarsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Krister Þrándsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Samsýn Hólmavík's goalkeeper Krister Þrándsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ragnar Ráðgeirsson. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Elínbergur Þorsteinsson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 65 minutes into the match, Samsýn Hólmavík's goalkeeper Krister Þrándsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elínbergur Þorsteinsson. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trausti Ingason during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Samsýn Hólmavík's Trausti Ingason got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Elínbergur Þorsteinsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 minutes Samsýn Hólmavík's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gunnþór Guðlaugsson who took care of the corner kick. Dælur Reykjavík's Líni Bragason was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Krister Þrándsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 84th match minute, Dælur Reykjavík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sveinþór Árnason to maneuver through the defense. Barri Geraldsson spun around in front of the goal 86 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Dælur Reykjavík's goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Auðunn Róbertsson during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute, Auðunn Róbertsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ragnar Ráðgeirsson struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Krister Þrándsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dælur Reykjavík. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Ragnar Ráðgeirsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dælur Reykjavík's supporters rose to their feet, but Ragnar Ráðgeirsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Krister Þrándsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ragnar Ráðgeirsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Samsýn Hólmavík fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Dælur Reykjavík were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
