Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Geirarður Knútsson started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Ernst Játmundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Habo Grindavík's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernst Játmundsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sumarliði Geraldsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sumarliði Geraldsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geirarður Knútsson in the 6th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Habo Grindavík's Geirarður Knútsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sumarliði Geraldsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some careless play in the Hreyfill Hellu defense, Geirarður Knútsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sumarliði Geraldsson. The Hreyfill Hellu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sumarliði Geraldsson should have stopped the shot. The Habo Grindavík fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Habo Grindavík's Geirarður Knútsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 18th match minute, Hreyfill Hellu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rósberg Valgarðsson to maneuver through the defense. Geirarður Knútsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sumarliði Geraldsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Safír Geislason left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Habo Grindavík fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Goði Larsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Habo Grindavík's supporters rose to their feet, but Goði Larsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sumarliði Geraldsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28thth minute of the game Geirarður Knútsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hreyfill Hellu's Sumarliði Geraldsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 28 minutes, Geirarður Knútsson made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Hreyfill Hellu's Sumarliði Geraldsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sumarliði Geraldsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geirarður Knútsson went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geirarður Knútsson in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sumarliði Geraldsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sumarliði Geraldsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barri Hauksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Habo Grindavík fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Habo Grindavík's Geirarður Knútsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 41 minutes into the game, Geirarður Knútsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Sumarliði Geraldsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Habo Grindavík were leading 0-10. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vékell Jósepsson to make the kick off. Geirarður Knútsson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Sumarliði Geraldsson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ernst Játmundsson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-11 in the 53rd playminute. When Habo Grindavík's Geirarður Knútsson in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hreyfill Hellu's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hreyfill Hellu's zone, Fjörnir Guðbjartsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sumarliði Geraldsson came out of the goal and Fjörnir Guðbjartsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the game, Geirarður Knútsson lined in a short shot 0-13 behind a frustrated Sumarliði Geraldsson. Sumarliði Geraldsson was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Geirarður Knútsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Geirarður Knútsson really showed his touch with that goal: 0-14. In the 74th minute, Geirarður Knútsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sumarliði Geraldsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-15. In the 80th minute, Geirarður Knútsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Hreyfill Hellu's Sumarliði Geraldsson didn't even have to move. 88 minutes into the match, Hreyfill Hellu's goal looked a bit too open when Geirarður Knútsson came free, but Sumarliði Geraldsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barri Hauksson got free with Sumarliði Geraldsson in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sumarliði Geraldsson made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Snæbjörn Ellertsson sent off a good shot on target.
