Krister Þrándsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Skúta Ákason showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. In the 11th minute Jóann Sigurjónsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hannesson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Hagbarður Nikulásarson sped through Samsýn Hólmavík's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Krister Þrándsson. In the 20th minute, Skúta Ákason fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Georg Hannesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barri Geraldsson in the 22nd minute of play. Skúta Ákason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Krister Þrándsson having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Samsýn Hólmavík's goal looked a bit too open when Skúta Ákason came free, but Krister Þrándsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hagbarður Nikulásarson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Krister Þrándsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Hjálmtýr Oddmarsson fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grimmu Tröllin's protests and gave Hjálmtýr Oddmarsson a yellow card for diving instead. Hjálmtýr Oddmarsson hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Hagbarður Nikulásarson made a precise shot to the right of Krister Þrándsson. Samsýn Hólmavík's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Rósmundur Skúlason hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Geirarður Ingimundarson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 43 minutes, Sigmundur Sveinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimmu Tröllin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigmundur Sveinsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Skúta Ákason made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hagbarður Nikulásarson in the 52nd minute of play forced Samsýn Hólmavík's goalkeeper Krister Þrándsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grimmu Tröllin's Fanngeir Oddvarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samsýn Hólmavík's Krister Þrándsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Skúta Ákason in the 55th minute of play. Jóann Sigurjónsson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Georg Hannesson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Henry Sævarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Samsýn Hólmavík's goal looked a bit too open when Hagbarður Nikulásarson came free, but Krister Þrándsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Krister Þrándsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hagbarður Nikulásarson in the 64th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geirarður Ingimundarson during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 67 played minutes Grimmu Tröllin got a freekick which was hit by Geirarður Ingimundarson. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jóann Sigurjónsson got free with Georg Hannesson in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Georg Hannesson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barri Geraldsson in the 70th minute of the match. In the 71stth minute of the game Hagbarður Nikulásarson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Samsýn Hólmavík's Krister Þrándsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geirarður Ingimundarson scored 4-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Krister Þrándsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 76 minutes into the match, Grimmu Tröllin's Geirarður Ingimundarson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Krister Þrándsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hjálmtýr Oddmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Krister Þrándsson having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Skúta Ákason in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Krister Þrándsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hafni Árnason during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hafni Árnason kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Hjálmtýr Oddmarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krister Þrándsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes in the game, Skúta Ákason dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Hagbarður Nikulásarson might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Krister Þrándsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hagbarður Nikulásarson ran back to his position shaking his head. Sigmundur Sveinsson kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. If Hagbarður Nikulásarson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Hagbarður Nikulásarson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute Skúta Ákason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krister Þrándsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Krister Þrándsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geirarður Ingimundarson, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Grimmu Tröllin walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
