Daríus Sigmundarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Soffanías Emilsson in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Elverk Vogum getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gottskálk Þengilsson hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Elverk Vogum's Þorgarður Arnljótsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kristmundur Þorkelsson. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. 29 minutes into the game, Kristþór Viðarsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Kristmundur Þorkelsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Þorgarður Arnljótsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kristmundur Þorkelsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Þorgarður Arnljótsson slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 37th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geir Mánason was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Elverk Vogum got a freekick which was hit by Jósteinn Jakobsson. 53 minutes into the game, Þorgarður Arnljótsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Kristmundur Þorkelsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute, Elbert Kjaransson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kristþór Viðarsson came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Elverk Vogum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristþór Viðarsson couldn't finish the play. Þorgarður Arnljótsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristmundur Þorkelsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. If Geir Mánason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Þorgarður Arnljótsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Elverk Vogum booed when Flink Kópaskeri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hersir Vilmarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kristmundur Þorkelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Kristþór Viðarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute, Elverk Vogum's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valdór Orrason fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
