After a rather tough play, Saga Öræfi's Höskuldur Hjörvarsson got a free kick in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Saga Öræfi's goal looked a bit too open when Elís Oddmarsson came free, but Vilji Guðþórsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elínbergur Elbertsson in the 21st minute of play forced Saga Öræfi's goalkeeper Vilji Guðþórsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Saga Öræfi's goal looked a bit too open when Jason Indriðason came free, but Vilji Guðþórsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elínbergur Elbertsson struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Vilji Guðþórsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reikiavik. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Kristmar Ísólfsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sandur Júlíansson fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reikiavik. United. F.C.'s protests and gave Sandur Júlíansson a yellow card for diving instead. Sandur Júlíansson hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Justino Itzaina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Vilji Guðþórsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vilji Guðþórsson came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Reikiavik. United. F.C.'s Barri Magnússon. But to his dismay, Barri Magnússon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0.
