Filippus Geislason didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reikiavik. United. F.C.. Hróaldur Bollason hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Þýsku Tærnar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Justino Itzaina scored to the left of an out of position Filippus Geislason, making the score, 1-0. In the 28th match minute, Reikiavik. United. F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Indriðason to maneuver through the defense. If Ingiþór Boðason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justino Itzaina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filippus Geislason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Jóhannes Valgeirsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Filippus Geislason quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Þýsku Tærnar's Filippus Geislason proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Þýsku Tærnar from getting a goal against them. Filippus Geislason didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Justino Itzaina went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Þýsku Tærnar's Filippus Geislason proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Þýsku Tærnar from getting a goal against them. Filippus Geislason was a little too slow when Elís Oddmarsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Nicolas Anelka made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Jason Indriðason mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reikiavik. United. F.C. and the Þýsku Tærnar players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Reikiavik. United. F.C.'s Jason Indriðason got a free kick in the 54th minute. Filippus Geislason came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Reikiavik. United. F.C.'s Elínbergur Elbertsson. But to his dismay, Elínbergur Elbertsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Filippus Geislason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maron Gabríelsson in the 63rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Þýsku Tærnar defense, Barri Magnússon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filippus Geislason. The Þýsku Tærnar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filippus Geislason should have stopped the shot. Filippus Geislason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maron Gabríelsson in the 68th minute of play. Justino Itzaina's late challenge caught a Þýsku Tærnar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justino Itzaina helped the player get up and apologised. Justino Itzaina kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. When Nicolas Anelka came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Þýsku Tærnar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Anelka couldn't finish the play. Ferdínand Grímsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Anelka in the 77th minute of play. Filippus Geislason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Itzaina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filippus Geislason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Itzaina, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maron Gabríelsson in the 83rd minute of play forced Þýsku Tærnar's goalkeeper Filippus Geislason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. F.C. booed when Þýsku Tærnar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamar Gregorsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Reikiavik. United. F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
