After a defensive mix-up in Engey Reykholti's zone, Vorm Gabríelsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Friður Daðason came out of the goal and Vorm Gabríelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elínbergur Elbertsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Friður Daðason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barri Magnússon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Friður Daðason having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Elís Oddmarsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Friður Daðason. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elís Oddmarsson ran back to his position shaking his head. When Otti Jónasson fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Engey Reykholti's protests and gave Otti Jónasson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd match minute, Engey Reykholti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otti Jónasson to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elínbergur Elbertsson in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Friður Daðason prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
