In the 7th minute Kristmundur Knútsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borgar Ósvaldsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Manchester United's Össur Ármannsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Borgar Ósvaldsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Rockets FC defense, Kristmundur Knútsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Borgar Ósvaldsson. The Rockets FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Borgar Ósvaldsson should have stopped the shot. Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Austmar Hjaltason in the 17th minute of play. Arngils Þorvaldsson kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Össur Ármannsson in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Borgar Ósvaldsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 22 minutes, Össur Ármannsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Össur Ármannsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kristmundur Knútsson succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. Austmar Hjaltason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Safír Reynisson hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Borgar Ósvaldsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Össur Ármannsson in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Arngils Þorvaldsson notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson. Borgar Ósvaldsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Leonard Ingmarsson fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockets FC's protests and gave Leonard Ingmarsson a yellow card for diving instead. 45 minutes into the game, Manchester United's Austmar Hjaltason nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Borgar Ósvaldsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Össur Ármannsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Austmar Hjaltason got free with Borgar Ósvaldsson in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 52 played minutes Rockets FC got a freekick which was hit by Seifur Guðfinnsson. The crowd rose to their feet as Manchester United's Össur Ármannsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Borgar Ósvaldsson. That made the score 0-6 after 53 minutes of play. If Austmar Hjaltason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geirtryggur Sólbergsson's late challenge caught a Rockets FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geirtryggur Sólbergsson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Geirtryggur Sólbergsson hit a great ball. Borgar Ósvaldsson made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Austmar Hjaltason sent off a good shot on target. Marías Hilmirsson hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Seifur Guðfinnsson hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Manchester United's Níls Margeirsson broke free in the 75th minute of the match and struck a powerful long shot that almost became a goal, but instead the ball went outside the right post. An obvious chance of a goal. 76 minutes into the match, Rockets FC's goalkeeper Borgar Ósvaldsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Austmar Hjaltason. When Manchester United's Austmar Hjaltason in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Borgar Ósvaldsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Níls Margeirsson in the 85th minute of play. After 86 played minutes Rockets FC got a freekick which was hit by Bergmar Kormáksson. When Össur Ármannsson came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Össur Ármannsson couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Össur Ármannsson in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Borgar Ósvaldsson saved Rockets FC from getting behind. With a little luck, Rockets FC's Borgar Ósvaldsson got control of the ball when Austmar Hjaltason tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manchester United played a much better game than Rockets FC and deserved their victory. The Rockets FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
