After having played for 90 minutes, Austmar Hjaltason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Austmar Hjaltason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Laufarsson in the 91st minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Dawid Pyrtek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dawid Pyrtek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigbjörn Finnlaugsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
