In the 9thth minute of the game Rögnvaldur Vagnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Barcelona's Vignir Sveinsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kristvin Logason's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kaprasíus Randversson firmly grabbed it by the left post. FC Barcelona's Kristvin Logason got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vignir Sveinsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rögnvaldur Vagnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Marijón Úlfarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Kaprasíus Randversson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaprasíus Randversson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marijón Úlfarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Kaprasíus Randversson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Njarðvík Vopnafirði from getting a goal against them. FC Barcelona's Vigur Arnleifsson got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rögnvaldur Vagnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Játgeir Vignisson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Vignir Sveinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Kaprasíus Randversson got control of the ball when Vigur Arnleifsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The wind increased when Játgeir Vignisson made the kick off in the second half. Marijón Úlfarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaprasíus Randversson having to interfere. Goði Línbergsson kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. A collision led to Njarðvík Vopnafirði getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Hörður Hallgrímsson hit a great ball. Kaprasíus Randversson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristvin Logason in the 58th minute of play. Vignir Sveinsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rögnvaldur Vagnsson in the 64th minute. Hörður Hallgrímsson hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Kaprasíus Randversson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marijón Úlfarsson in the 70th minute of play. Vilji Maríusarson charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vilji Maríusarson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes Njarðvík Vopnafirði got a freekick which was hit by Vilji Maríusarson. After 72 minutes, Kjartan Brynjarsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Njarðvík Vopnafirði and the FC Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kjartan Brynjarsson hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Kaprasíus Randversson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúter Óttarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's goal looked a bit too open when Kristvin Logason came free, but Kaprasíus Randversson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sírnir Bergþórsson took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kaprasíus Randversson. Kaprasíus Randversson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Njarðvík Vopnafirði's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lúter Óttarsson was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Barcelona's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Hjálmtýr Bergsson to score against Kaprasíus Randversson in Njarðvík Vopnafirði's goal. 2-0 after 81 minutes. In the 86th minute, Vigur Arnleifsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Barcelona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Kaprasíus Randversson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marijón Úlfarsson in the 90th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Svanur Oddbergsson got a free kick in the 92nd minute. FC Barcelona's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
