Steinn Bjarmason came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Rögnvaldur Vagnsson. But to his dismay, Rögnvaldur Vagnsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginbaldur Kristbergsson in the 14th minute of play forced Sztorm Keflavik FC's goalkeeper Steinn Bjarmason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Halldór Kristófersson made in the 24th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sztorm Keflavik FC's Hagbarður Hermansson. Heiðrekur Vilmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaprasíus Randversson having to interfere. Sztorm Keflavik FC's Steinn Bjarmason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svanur Oddbergsson in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sztorm Keflavik FC's zone, Rögnvaldur Vagnsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steinn Bjarmason came out of the goal and Rögnvaldur Vagnsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Halldór Kristófersson in the 36th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sztorm Keflavik FC's Hagbarður Hermansson. Steinn Bjarmason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginbaldur Kristbergsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Játgeir Jóngeirsson got free with Kaprasíus Randversson in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Sztorm Keflavik FC's zone, Játgeir Vignisson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steinn Bjarmason came out of the goal and Játgeir Vignisson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Sztorm Keflavik FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hörður Hallgrímsson came free, but Steinn Bjarmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Sztorm Keflavik FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Játgeir Jóngeirsson to maneuver through the defense. The Sztorm Keflavik FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Njarðvík Vopnafirði were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Svanur Oddbergsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Oliver Adolfsson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. When Rögnvaldur Vagnsson came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Njarðvík Vopnafirði fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rögnvaldur Vagnsson couldn't finish the play. Hagbarður Hermansson hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Sztorm Keflavik FC's goalkeeper Steinn Bjarmason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Svanur Oddbergsson. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Kjartan Brynjarsson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Steinn Bjarmason but with some difficulty. When the match was over Njarðvík Vopnafirði could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sztorm Keflavik FC throughout the match.
