The referee ignored Srednji Banat's protests and gave Zvezdan Jelovac a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Svrljig FK booed when Srednji Banat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zvezdan Jelovac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Srednji Banat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikola Arsić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Momčilo Medenica charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Momčilo Medenica the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dojčilo Rikanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadija Kaplanović having to interfere. Tadija Kaplanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vaso Topić, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 75 minutes Srednji Banat's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Svetoje Vujčić who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Svrljig FK's Vaso Topić getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Nikola Arsić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute of the game, Vlade Mijin landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. In the 82nd minute, Željko Muslin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Koča Popov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Srednji Banat's supporters rose to their feet, but Koča Popov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragan Rukavina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Svrljig FK's attack was well implemented in the 86th minute, but when Dojčilo Rikanović was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The Srednji Banat supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Srednji Banat would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
