The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Slavenko Mitić came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Bački Topola OFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Slavenko Mitić couldn't finish the play. Bački Topola OFK's Filiman Katić proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Bački Topola OFK from getting a goal against them. Miloš Bingulac might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filiman Katić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miloš Bingulac ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the game, Miloš Bingulac recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Filiman Katić. Miloš Bingulac showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Bački Topola OFK's Slavenko Mitić, in the 20th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Bački Topola OFK. Negoslav Spajić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miladin Minović in the 25th minute of play forced Bor's goalkeeper Boris Ćirković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miloš Bingulac was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Miloš Bingulac took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Filiman Katić to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miloš Bingulac to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mitar Budić got free with Boris Ćirković in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boris Ćirković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slavenko Mitić in the 55th minute of play. Stojan Urumov charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stojan Urumov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bački Topola OFK booed when Bor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stojan Urumov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filiman Katić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miloš Bingulac in the 63rd minute of the match. After 65 minutes of play, Bački Topola OFK's Mitar Budić made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Boris Ćirković was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Željko Ristanović in the 68th minute of play forced Bački Topola OFK's goalkeeper Filiman Katić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute Slavenko Mitić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boris Ćirković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miladin Minović during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 78 played minutes Bački Topola OFK got a freekick which was hit by Miladin Minović. Živadin Čelić, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mitar Budić got free with Boris Ćirković in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bor's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
