The audience thought a goal was coming when Jevrem Gmitrović got free with Vladan Popin in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute of the match Janko Rnić shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vlade Mališić showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jevrem Gmitrović struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Vladan Popin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dimitrovgrad. Jevrem Gmitrović was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 18th minute. Dimitrovgrad's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 22 minutes, Duško Brđanin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banatska Palanka OFK and the Dimitrovgrad players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, Banatska Palanka OFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duško Brđanin to maneuver through the defense. If Jevrem Gmitrović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Predrag Binić hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Jevrem Gmitrović in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vladan Popin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 39th minute, Jevrem Gmitrović fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Dimitrovgrad getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Srđan Strugar hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Duško Brđanin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dimitrovgrad's Vlade Mališić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trajan Stevović in the 45th minute of play. Vlade Mališić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Predrag Binić in the 46th minute of the match. Jevrem Gmitrović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladan Popin having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jevrem Gmitrović to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Duško Brđanin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vlade Mališić skillfully saved the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Duško Brđanin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vlade Mališić showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jevrem Gmitrović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladan Popin having to interfere. Duško Brđanin hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Mihajlo Mirkov took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vladan Popin. Vladan Popin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jevrem Gmitrović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vladan Popin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Banatska Palanka OFK's goal looked a bit too open when Jevrem Gmitrović came free, but Vladan Popin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jevrem Gmitrović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vladan Popin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihajlo Mirkov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladan Popin having to interfere. Vladan Popin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jevrem Gmitrović in the 88th minute of play. Dimitrovgrad's Marjan Vićentijević pulled a muscle in his back after 90 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 90 minutes of play Banatska Palanka OFK's Boriša Gutić was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 92 played minutes Banatska Palanka OFK got a freekick which was hit by Boriša Gutić. 93 minutes into the game, Mihajlo Mirkov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Vladan Popin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dimitrovgrad's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
