The referee ignored Kraljevo's protests and gave Dragomir Barjaktarević a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kraljevo getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Čeda Jovasević showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uglješa Bitić in the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Irig's Ljubiša Vukajlović got control of the ball when Dušan Mratinković tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kraljevo's zone, Boriša Bukilić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Čeda Jovasević came out of the goal and Boriša Bukilić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 45 minutes of play, Irig's Uglješa Bitić made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Čeda Jovasević was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vuk Stepanov to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Dušan Mratinković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ljubiša Vukajlović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uglješa Bitić scored 0-2 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Čeda Jovasević, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute, Bojan Breković reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Čeda Jovasević. The goal made the score 0-3. If Uglješa Bitić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Uglješa Bitić got free with Čeda Jovasević in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kraljevo were furious when Živorad Jakšić was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The goalkeeper, Čeda Jovasević, was totally fooled by Irig's Radislav Mirković, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Kraljevo's Čeda Jovasević proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Kraljevo from getting a goal against them. Čeda Jovasević made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Radislav Mirković sent off a good shot on target. Irig played a much better game than Kraljevo and deserved their victory. The Kraljevo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
