The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Sonta OFK's Pavle Vranković got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Hasan Antonijević could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Tomislav Bakrač made a huge save. Tomislav Bakrač stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Krsta Cvejić's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Dario Lučić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slaven Milosavljev having to interfere. Slaven Milosavljev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Lučić in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to FK Banja getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Šćepan Rujnajić hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Hasan Antonijević managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK Banja's supporters rose to their feet, but Hasan Antonijević was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomislav Bakrač breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomislav Bakrač showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krsta Cvejić in the 26th minute of the match. Dimitrije Vukelić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Tomislav Bakrač managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when FK Banja's Dimitrije Vukelić fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Krsta Cvejić might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomislav Bakrač. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Krsta Cvejić ran back to his position shaking his head. Dimitrije Vukelić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomislav Bakrač having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Bogoboj Jerotić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sonta OFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FK Banja the free kick. The supporters of FK Banja booed when Sonta OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogoboj Jerotić didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Pavle Vranković made the kick off in the second half. If Dimitrije Vukelić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dimitrije Vukelić came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the FK Banja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dimitrije Vukelić couldn't finish the play. After having played for 66 minutes, Dimitrije Vukelić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK Banja's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimitrije Vukelić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Krsta Cvejić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tomislav Bakrač took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krsta Cvejić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Krsta Cvejić sped through Sonta OFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tomislav Bakrač. Tomislav Bakrač showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krsta Cvejić, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FK Banja had played much better football throughout.
