The crowd rose to their feet as Niš's Radivoje Stevanović slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Slavko Aleksić. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nebojša Ordinačev in the 11th minute of play forced Niš's goalkeeper Nenad Bondžulić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12thth minute of the game Mirko Marković who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Niš's Nenad Bondžulić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radivoje Stevanović in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Slavko Aleksić saved Sirig from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Niš's Jovan Čubrilo got a free kick in the 17th minute. Nenad Bondžulić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nebojša Ordinačev in the 22nd minute of the match. Radivoje Stevanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slavko Aleksić having to interfere. Nenad Bondžulić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nebojša Ordinačev, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Radivoje Stevanović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nebojša Ordinačev came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Sirig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nebojša Ordinačev couldn't finish the play. Radivoje Stevanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Slavko Aleksić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Jovica Korov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radivoje Stevanović in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Slavko Aleksić saved Sirig from getting behind. Nikola Krivokuća fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slavko Aleksić having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Slavko Aleksić came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Niš's Radivoje Stevanović. But to his dismay, Radivoje Stevanović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Jugomir Masulović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Slavko Aleksić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 96th minute of the match, Nebojša Đorđić got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nenad Bondžulić was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nebojša Ordinačev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Nenad Bondžulić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Niš fully deserved thier win.
