In the 8th minute, Vitomir Bradonjić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Prodan Arsić was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Gradimir Vargec received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Svetolik Barišić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitomir Bradonjić who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Prodan Arsić when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ristivoje Cimbaljević scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Svetolik Barišić, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Veliko Laole's Prodan Arsić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milutin Antić in the 26th minute of play. Bilbao's Milutin Antić got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ristivoje Cimbaljević fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Veliko Laole's protests and gave Ristivoje Cimbaljević a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Bilbao booed when Veliko Laole was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ristivoje Cimbaljević didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gradimir Vargec in the 41st minute of play forced Bilbao's goalkeeper Svetolik Barišić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Miroslav Antov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gradimir Vargec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Svetolik Barišić having to interfere.

In the 57th minute Aranđel Labus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prodan Arsić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milutin Antić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prodan Arsić having to interfere. Svetolik Barišić made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Gradimir Vargec sent off a good shot on target. Svetolik Barišić made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gradimir Vargec in the 93rd minute. Prodan Arsić came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Bilbao's Vitomir Bradonjić. But to his dismay, Vitomir Bradonjić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Veliko Laole players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bilbao.
