With an extended leg and a bit of luck Milutin Stolić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lubnica's Svetozar Ljubanović got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Svetozar Ljubanović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kosta Mrđanin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 28th minute, Radivoj Klikovac hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

That made the score 0-3 after 56 minutes of play. 59 minutes into the game, Milko Kajić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lubnica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FK Mamuti Kikinda the free kick. In the 59th match minute, Lubnica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milko Kajić to maneuver through the defense. After 63 played minutes FK Mamuti Kikinda got a freekick which was hit by Sredoje Momić. After having played for 66 minutes, Velizar Drakulić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lubnica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Velizar Drakulić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Milutin Stolić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svetozar Ljubanović, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Slavenko Beljović could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Milutin Stolić made a huge save. FK Mamuti Kikinda's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
