The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nikša Marjanović could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Srba Jozić made a huge save. Veselin Jokić's late challenge caught a Brus OFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Veselin Jokić helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Brus OFK a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Saša Dragnić, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bački Topola FK's Naum Radisavčević. 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Rastko Petković notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Bački Topola FK's Naum Radisavčević. Naum Radisavčević was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Brus OFK's Srba Jozić got control of the ball when Radomir Vemić tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radoman Macerević in the 19th minute of play forced Bački Topola FK's goalkeeper Naum Radisavčević to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Rastko Petković managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brus OFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Rastko Petković was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Naum Radisavčević breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Bački Topola FK's Nikša Marjanović sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Srba Jozić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bački Topola FK were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Brus OFK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Veselin Jokić took the corner. Brus OFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikša Marjanović was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 36th minute, Radovan Tasić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Brus OFK getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Milivoj Prodanović hit a great ball. Radomir Vemić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute, Negovan Jeličić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Radoman Macerević was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Bački Topola FK's Nikša Marjanović sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Srba Jozić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Srba Jozić didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Bački Topola FK's Nikša Marjanović shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Bački Topola FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikša Marjanović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Nikša Marjanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Srba Jozić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bački Topola FK's Radomir Vemić got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ninoslav Tošić kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Srba Jozić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomir Vemić in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Bački Topola FK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
