After 3 played minutes, ZORKA's Jevrem Bogićević shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Prospero Haitz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ZORKA reached it. After 6 played minutes ZORKA got a freekick which was hit by Stanimir Kukić. Ðorđe Milosavljev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radenko Krsmanović in the 10th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Slavko Mijović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the game, FK ASTRA's Hannes Overloop nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ðorđe Milosavljev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 23 minutes, Hannes Overloop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK ASTRA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hannes Overloop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hannes Overloop hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Joksim Ćuk kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 42 played minutes ZORKA got a freekick which was hit by Radojko Bunić. After having played for 43 minutes, Hannes Overloop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK ASTRA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hannes Overloop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Radojko Bunić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radenko Krsmanović in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ðorđe Milosavljev saved ZORKA from getting behind. ZORKA's Ðorđe Milosavljev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radenko Krsmanović in the 60th minute of play. Hannes Overloop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ðorđe Milosavljev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, FK ASTRA's goal looked a bit too open when Radojko Bunić came free, but Prospero Haitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hannes Overloop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ðorđe Milosavljev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, ZORKA's goalkeeper Ðorđe Milosavljev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hannes Overloop. Prospero Haitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slavko Mijović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 77 minutes, Hannes Overloop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK ASTRA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hannes Overloop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hannes Overloop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ðorđe Milosavljev having to interfere. 81 minutes in the game, Hannes Overloop fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ðorđe Milosavljev having to interfere. 84 minutes into the game, Hannes Overloop cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ðorđe Milosavljev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hannes Overloop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Radenko Krsmanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ðorđe Milosavljev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Prospero Haitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Slavko Mijović, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle sounded FK ASTRA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ZORKA.
