The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Grgur Veljić struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Ljubo Kocić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djmilan Mirijevo. After 7 played minutes Kanjiža OFK got a freekick which was hit by Lazar Stanimirović. Kanjiža OFK's Ljubo Kocić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vidosav Stavrić in the 11th minute of play. Ljubo Kocić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Srbislav Medić in the 12th minute of play. In the 16th minute Igor Bakić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janča Stupar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ljubo Kocić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikola Šimanić in the 21st minute of play. Vidosav Stavrić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kanjiža OFK's Stevan Milinić got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vedran Trivunović charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vedran Trivunović the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st minute, Vedran Trivunović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Janča Stupar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Bakić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Srbislav Medić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ljubo Kocić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ljubo Kocić made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Grgur Veljić sent off a good shot on target. Djmilan Mirijevo were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Kanjiža OFK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vedran Trivunović took the corner. The corner led Djmilan Mirijevo's Vedran Trivunović to fire away a dangerous shot which Ljubo Kocić despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kanjiža OFK's zone, Nemanja Novičić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ljubo Kocić came out of the goal and Nemanja Novičić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vidosav Stavrić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Vidosav Stavrić lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Ljubo Kocić. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
52 minutes into the game, Stojadin Nađ was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kanjiža OFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Djmilan Mirijevo the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Stojadin Nađ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ljubo Kocić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikola Šimanić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Djmilan Mirijevo booed when Kanjiža OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Bakić didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Stefan Brkić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Djmilan Mirijevo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kanjiža OFK the free kick. A collision led to Djmilan Mirijevo getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Stefan Brkić hit a great ball. Nikola Šimanić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ljubo Kocić having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Vidosav Stavrić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Djmilan Mirijevo's supporters rose to their feet, but Vidosav Stavrić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ljubo Kocić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the match, Djmilan Mirijevo's goalkeeper Janča Stupar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stojadin Nađ. When Srbislav Medić came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Djmilan Mirijevo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Srbislav Medić couldn't finish the play. Ljubo Kocić didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vidosav Stavrić went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 82 minutes into the match, Djmilan Mirijevo's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Bakić came free, but Janča Stupar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Vidosav Stavrić made a precise shot to the right of Ljubo Kocić. Kanjiža OFK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Stojadin Nađ got the audiences attention when, from a short distance, he fired away a great shot in the 95th minute of the game. The shot hit the left post and bounced out. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Djmilan Mirijevo had played much better football throughout.
