Ljubo Kocić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đorđe Peković in the 3rd minute of play. Radoslav Buzdovan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Bakić in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute Igor Bakić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radoslav Buzdovan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radoslav Buzdovan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stojadin Nađ in the 18th minute of the match. Radoslav Buzdovan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Bakić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Sima Vidosavljević got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Radoslav Buzdovan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stojadin Nađ, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Stevan Milinić made a precise shot to the right of Radoslav Buzdovan. Celsius's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 31 minutes into the match, Celsius's goal looked a bit too open when Stojadin Nađ came free, but Radoslav Buzdovan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ljubo Kocić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sima Vidosavljević, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Sima Vidosavljević got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Kanjiža OFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sima Vidosavljević came free, but Ljubo Kocić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mladen Gorjanac received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ljubo Kocić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celsius's Radoslav Buzdovan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stojadin Nađ in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Mladen Gorjanac made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Mladen Gorjanac put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ljubo Kocić. Ljubo Kocić came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Celsius's Mladen Gorjanac. But to his dismay, Mladen Gorjanac quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Kanjiža OFK's zone, Vučko Perić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ljubo Kocić came out of the goal and Vučko Perić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 59 minutes of play, Celsius's Mladen Gorjanac made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ljubo Kocić was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 64th minute Sima Vidosavljević shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ljubo Kocić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Kanjiža OFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sima Vidosavljević came free, but Ljubo Kocić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kanjiža OFK's Igor Bakić was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 69th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience was convinced that Mladen Gorjanac's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ljubo Kocić was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Radoslav Buzdovan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevan Milinić in the 77th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Krsto Čvorkov in the 80th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Celsius's Milenko Brčić. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kanjiža OFK's goalkeeper Ljubo Kocić, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dragan Jovović was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the game, one of Celsius:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Milenko Brčić fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celsius's protests and gave Milenko Brčić a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Celsius got a freekick which was hit by Milenko Brčić. Kanjiža OFK's Igor Bakić got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Sima Vidosavljević had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
