Radoman Brajušković's late challenge caught a OFK BEOGRAD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Radoman Brajušković helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Radoman Brajušković hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th match minute, OFK BEOGRAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasilije Đorović to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, OFK BEOGRAD's Milivoj Krivošija ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Milovan Šorgić. In the 17th match minute, OFK BEOGRAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mladomir Žarković to maneuver through the defense. Konstantin Trivunović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Predrag Čvrkić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mirko Dujaković in the 21st minute of the match. Rodoljub Rosandić struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Milovan Šorgić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for OFK BEOGRAD. A collision led to OFK BEOGRAD getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Blagoje Nedić hit a great ball. 37 minutes in the game Vasilije Đorović did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Pavle Krčedinac. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodoljub Rosandić in the 39th minute of play forced Bačko Gradište's goalkeeper Milovan Šorgić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in OFK BEOGRAD's zone, Želimir Šišić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Predrag Čvrkić came out of the goal and Želimir Šišić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mirko Dujaković to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, OFK BEOGRAD's goalkeeper Predrag Čvrkić had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mirko Dujaković. Milan Maleš hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Mirko Dujaković's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Predrag Čvrkić read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. If Konstantin Trivunović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Milivoj Krivošija came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the OFK BEOGRAD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milivoj Krivošija couldn't finish the play.
