The referee felt a red card was in order, 30 minutes into the game, when Stanko Joksović put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Bačko Gradište getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Stanko Joksović hit a great ball. After 32 played minutes Bačko Gradište got a freekick which was hit by Dane Doroslovac. After a rather tough play, Bačko Gradište's Dane Doroslovac got a free kick in the 37th minute. Želimir Šišić might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Janča Stupar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Želimir Šišić ran back to his position shaking his head. Milovan Šorgić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vidosav Stavrić in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Želimir Šišić made the kick off in the second half. Djmilan Mirijevo's Janča Stupar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Živadin Paroški in the 57th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vidosav Stavrić got free with Milovan Šorgić in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vidosav Stavrić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Milovan Šorgić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Živadin Paroški's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Janča Stupar was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Bačko Gradište's zone, Grgur Veljić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Milovan Šorgić came out of the goal and Grgur Veljić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the match, Djmilan Mirijevo's goal looked a bit too open when Živadin Paroški came free, but Janča Stupar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
