When Stojadin Nađ fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kanjiža OFK's protests and gave Stojadin Nađ a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Radnicki Sombor booed when Kanjiža OFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stojadin Nađ didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute Igor Bakić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Žarković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 minutes of play, Kanjiža OFK's Igor Bakić made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adam Žarković was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 17 played minutes Kanjiža OFK got a freekick which was hit by Čubrilo Cvijetić. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kanjiža OFK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arsenije Zeković was slow to take the kick. During this time Radnicki Sombor's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Radnicki Sombor's Jelenko Prošić to fire away a dangerous shot which Ljubo Kocić despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Stevan Milinić hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Stojadin Nađ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Igor Bakić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Žarković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stojadin Nađ got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Kanjiža OFK's Stojadin Nađ got a free kick in the 36th minute. Adam Žarković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Bakić in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Bakić in the 45th minute of play forced Radnicki Sombor's goalkeeper Adam Žarković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Radnicki Sombor players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kanjiža OFK were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jelenko Prošić made a kick off. Adam Žarković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Srboljub Prolić in the 51st minute of play. Slavenko Morača kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Radnicki Sombor's Adam Žarković played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Bakić in the 58th minute of play. Ljubo Kocić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenije Zeković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Srboljub Prolić charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Srboljub Prolić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 73rd minute, Srboljub Prolić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arsenije Zeković, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Kanjiža OFK getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Srboljub Prolić hit a great ball. If Jelenko Prošić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Radnicki Sombor defense, Velimir Stojadinović kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adam Žarković. The Radnicki Sombor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adam Žarković should have stopped the shot. Ljubo Kocić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jelenko Prošić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute Radivoj Koljenović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ljubo Kocić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kanjiža OFK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
