The supporters of Novi Sad booed when Novi Beograd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radosav Trifunac didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Srba Belošević had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dobrica Ivanović. Novi Sad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Srba Belošević was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Srba Belošević scored 0-2 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dobrica Ivanović, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Novi Sad's Dobrica Ivanović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milan Lezajić in the 12th minute of play. Milan Lezajić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Dobrica Ivanović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milan Lezajić scored 0-3 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dobrica Ivanović, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Novi Sad's Dobrica Ivanović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Srba Belošević in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Novi Sad got a freekick which was hit by Marko Todosijević. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sredoje Kaluđerović during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Novi Beograd made a substitution. Staniša Poleksić replaced Branko Vještica. A collision led to Novi Sad getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Sredoje Kaluđerović hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Radivoje Zečević had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dobrica Ivanović. An unexpectedly hard shot by Srba Belošević in the 44th minute of play forced Novi Sad's goalkeeper Dobrica Ivanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milan Lezajić took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dobrica Ivanović. Dobrica Ivanović dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After the first half Novi Beograd were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Srba Belošević to strike the kick off in the second half. Dobrica Ivanović was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Radivoje Zečević showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 59 minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Novi Sad's goalkeeper Dobrica Ivanović had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Radivoje Zečević. Milan Lezajić's late challenge caught a Novi Sad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Milan Lezajić helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Novi Beograd's Milan Lezajić got a free kick in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Srba Belošević in the 66th minute of play forced Novi Sad's goalkeeper Dobrica Ivanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Novi Beograd's Milan Lezajić slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dobrica Ivanović. That made the score 0-7 after 67 minutes of play. Novi Sad's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Srba Belošević scored to the left of an out of position Dobrica Ivanović, making the score, 0-8. Milan Lezajić could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Dobrica Ivanović made a huge save. Novi Sad's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Srba Belošević scored to the left of an out of position Dobrica Ivanović, making the score, 0-9. Dobrica Ivanović was a little too slow when Srba Belošević got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-10. The crowd rose to their feet as Novi Beograd's Srba Belošević slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dobrica Ivanović. That made the score 0-11 after 85 minutes of play. 88 minutes into the game, Radivoje Zečević recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dobrica Ivanović. Radivoje Zečević showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-12. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Srba Belošević took a quick shot and it went in 0-13 without a chance for Dobrica Ivanović to make any attempt to save it. Dobrica Ivanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radivoje Zečević, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Novi Sad's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Staniša Poleksić 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-14. The Novi Sad fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Novi Beograd were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
