In the 10thth minute of the game Milijan Kalać who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.K. Apatin's Damir Spasić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zlatan Skorupan's late challenge caught a Kelvedon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damir Spasić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tanasije Šipčić fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kelvedon's protests and gave Tanasije Šipčić a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kelvedon getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Tanasije Šipčić hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Milun Praščević made the kick off in the second half. Damir Spasić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitrije Tumbasović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Muhamed Eraković got free with Damir Spasić in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Muhamed Eraković might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damir Spasić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Muhamed Eraković ran back to his position shaking his head. Slavko Tujković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kelvedon played a much better game than F.K. Apatin and deserved their victory. The F.K. Apatin players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
