After 3 played minutes Harold Hill AF got a freekick which was hit by Dražen Karapandža. Hulio Pijetlović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ratko Savković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Harold Hill AF's Risto Jelenić in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FTC Ferencváros's goalie prevented a goal. After 21 played minutes Harold Hill AF got a freekick which was hit by Hulio Pijetlović. 24 minutes into the match, Harold Hill AF's goalkeeper Peđa Nikolić had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milun Mujević. Ratko Savković took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Risto Jelenić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hulio Pijetlović in the 26th minute of play forced FTC Ferencváros's goalkeeper Ratko Savković to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Puniša Nesterović was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FTC Ferencváros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Harold Hill AF the free kick. A collision led to FTC Ferencváros getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Puniša Nesterović hit a great ball. Ratko Savković showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Risto Jelenić, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Ratko Savković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Risto Jelenić in the 34th minute of play. Hulio Pijetlović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ratko Savković having to interfere. Milun Mujević might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peđa Nikolić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Milun Mujević ran back to his position shaking his head. Harold Hill AF's Hulio Pijetlović got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Risto Jelenić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Harold Hill AF's Peđa Nikolić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dmitar Prentić in the 53rd minute of play. Peđa Nikolić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milun Mujević in the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, FTC Ferencváros's goal looked a bit too open when Risto Jelenić came free, but Ratko Savković reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Risto Jelenić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ratko Savković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Slađan Šaletić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hulio Pijetlović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ratko Savković having to interfere. Dmitar Prentić hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Sveto Mrvaljević ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peđa Nikolić was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Hulio Pijetlović could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Ratko Savković made a huge save. Slađan Šaletić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Risto Jelenić received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ratko Savković came out and tried to block the shot, but Risto Jelenić slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 89th minute. Ratko Savković didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 95th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. The FTC Ferencváros fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Harold Hill AF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
