Cleethorpes's Vukoje Marojević was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Novica Tršić in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoslav Šaletić in the 97th minute of play forced Kettering's goalkeeper Novica Tršić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodoljub Katić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Novica Tršić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cleethorpes fully deserved thier win.
