Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wesley Best started the match with the kick off. Bob Winship took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoslav Šaletić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute, Martyn Delamore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bob Winship made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoslav Šaletić in the 12th minute of play. Dragoslav Šaletić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Bob Winship tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodoljub Katić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Winship having to interfere. Bob Winship showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodoljub Katić, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 20 played minutes Polperro FC got a freekick which was hit by Ed Hay. 22 minutes into the game, Rodoljub Katić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bob Winship was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th match minute, Cleethorpes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petko Tepavčević to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Rodoljub Katić had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bob Winship. Polperro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodoljub Katić was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Bob Winship made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodoljub Katić in the 44th minute of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Dragoslav Šaletić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cleethorpes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dragoslav Šaletić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dragoslav Šaletić was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Ed Hay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polperro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cleethorpes the free kick. After 52 played minutes Polperro FC got a freekick which was hit by Ed Hay. A collision led to Polperro FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jermaine Fairfax hit a great ball. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Polperro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vukoje Marojević was slow to take the kick. During this time Cleethorpes's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Vukoje Marojević almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Polperro FC's Bob Winship did a great save. 63 minutes into the game, Dragoslav Šaletić recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bob Winship. Dragoslav Šaletić showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. After 67 played minutes Polperro FC got a freekick which was hit by Ed Hay. Rodoljub Katić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ed Hay hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Laurence Gould hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute of the match, Dragoslav Šaletić tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bob Winship saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bob Winship made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoslav Šaletić in the 76th minute of play. Ćetko Tošković kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Best in the 86th minute of play forced Cleethorpes's goalkeeper Ćiro Bogdanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rodoljub Katić came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Cleethorpes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodoljub Katić couldn't finish the play. Cleethorpes's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
