The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oswallt Franklin kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes in the game, Ceri Loane fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cairn Hassett having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Kynan Burns managed to get in a good position for a shot. Porthcawl's supporters rose to their feet, but Kynan Burns was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cairn Hassett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kynan Burns struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Cairn Hassett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Porthcawl. Ceri Loane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Porthcawl's Ceri Loane got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cairn Hassett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ceri Loane in the 18th minute of the match. When Kynan Burns came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Porthcawl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kynan Burns couldn't finish the play. Calder Death showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baddon Glazier in the 24th minute of the match. Baddon Glazier struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Calder Death didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bridgend FC. After 30 played minutes Porthcawl got a freekick which was hit by Oswallt Franklin. Oswallt Franklin kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Porthcawl's Ceri Loane got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Calder Death showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baddon Glazier, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ceri Loane stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cairn Hassett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kynan Burns's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Ceri Loane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cairn Hassett having to interfere. Kynan Burns recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Pennar Driscoll hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anwar Gates, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceri Loane in the 71st minute of play forced Bridgend FC's goalkeeper Cairn Hassett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calder Death made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baddon Glazier in the 75th minute of play. Oswallt Franklin's late challenge caught a Bridgend FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oswallt Franklin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, Oswallt Franklin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bridgend FC's Cadfael Canada got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baddon Glazier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Calder Death tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Bridgend FC's Cadfael Canada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Calder Death narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cairn Hassett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceri Loane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cairn Hassett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceri Loane in the 90th minute of play. If Cadfael Canada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bridgend FC's Baddon Glazier in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Porthcawl's goalie prevented a goal. Bridgend FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Porthcawl had controlled the match.
