The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Cas Birdwell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevelyan Hanley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Rhyl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anwas Currier to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Cas Birdwell managed to get in a good position for a shot. UWA Aberystwyth's supporters rose to their feet, but Cas Birdwell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trevelyan Hanley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Waljan Coffey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Trevelyan Hanley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rhyl's zone, Cas Birdwell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trevelyan Hanley came out of the goal and Cas Birdwell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Braen Keaty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Rhyl booed when UWA Aberystwyth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greidyawl Breslin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nentres Keeler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rheged Wainwright's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Waljan Coffey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevelyan Hanley having to interfere. Nentres Keeler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braen Keaty in the 29th minute of play. Waljan Coffey did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Trevelyan Hanley 33 minutes into the match. In the 37th match minute, UWA Aberystwyth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cadeyrn Lydiican to maneuver through the defense. Nentres Keeler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rheged Wainwright, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, UWA Aberystwyth's Cas Birdwell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trevelyan Hanley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Trevelyan Hanley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cas Birdwell in the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cas Birdwell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for UWA Aberystwyth. Nentres Flannelly stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Trevelyan Hanley. 2-0. Waljan Coffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Rhyl defense, Cas Birdwell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevelyan Hanley. The Rhyl fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevelyan Hanley should have stopped the shot. Clud Grier charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clud Grier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to UWA Aberystwyth getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Clud Grier hit a great ball. When Braen Keaty came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Rhyl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braen Keaty couldn't finish the play. Rhyl's Rheged Wainwright got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rheged Wainwright's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nentres Keeler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. A collision led to UWA Aberystwyth getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Gwyneira Brent hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Rhyl's goal looked a bit too open when Waljan Coffey came free, but Trevelyan Hanley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Bradwen Farley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rhyl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Aberystwyth the free kick. The supporters of UWA Aberystwyth booed when Rhyl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradwen Farley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Braen Keaty left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rhyl fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Nentres Keeler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rheged Wainwright in the 96th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 98th minute of the game. One of Rhyl:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UWA Aberystwyth:s goal.
