In the 8th minute, Huw Bligh reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Trevelyan Hanley. The goal made the score 1-1. After having played for 13 minutes, Lavaine Bergin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Porthcawl FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lavaine Bergin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Huw Bligh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gowerr Kern showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rheged Wainwright in the 21st minute of the match. With a little luck, Rhyl's Trevelyan Hanley got control of the ball when Lavaine Bergin tried to sneak it across the goal line.
