Newlin Harding took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Garnock Gilboy. Ely's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Addolgar Gillett managed to get in a good position for a shot. UWA Bangor's supporters rose to their feet, but Addolgar Gillett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garnock Gilboy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kynwal Scrutiner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kynwal Scrutiner struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Garnock Gilboy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UWA Bangor. 22 minutes into the match, Kynwal Scrutiner dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Garnock Gilboy, 1-0. Garnock Gilboy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kynwal Scrutiner, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Llwydeu Henson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Llwydeu Colville, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kynwal Scrutiner to strike the kick off in the second half. Addolgar Gillett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garnock Gilboy having to interfere. When Olwydd Farley came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Ely fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olwydd Farley couldn't finish the play. Garnock Gilboy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kynwal Scrutiner in the 61st minute of play. Kynwal Scrutiner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Garnock Gilboy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kynwal Scrutiner might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Garnock Gilboy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kynwal Scrutiner ran back to his position shaking his head. 71 minutes into the match, UWA Bangor's goal looked a bit too open when Llwydeu Colville came free, but Llwydeu Henson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olwydd Farley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Llwydeu Henson made a huge save. When Kynwal Scrutiner came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the UWA Bangor fans jumped to their feet. Addolgar Gillett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. UWA Bangor's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
