Heulyn Chadwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Padrig Grantham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhodri Hanley in the 10th minute of play forced Cardiff's goalkeeper Heulyn Chadwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gethin Bonham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Collen Huddleston, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Gethin Bonham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kynan Freelove in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute Digon Pattern suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. When Selyv Hayhurst fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Puddlemere United's protests and gave Selyv Hayhurst a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Puddlemere United's Selyv Hayhurst got a free kick in the 20th minute. Collen Huddleston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gethin Bonham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Padrig Potter in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heulyn Chadwick saved Cardiff from getting behind. Griffin Bannon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Cardiff's goal looked a bit too open when Padrig Potter came free, but Heulyn Chadwick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rhodri Hanley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Padrig Potter took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Heulyn Chadwick. Heulyn Chadwick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Padrig Potter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Heulyn Chadwick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Griffin Bannon struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Heulyn Chadwick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puddlemere United. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Padrig Potter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Drudwas Dalton thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Heulyn Chadwick, a very annoying self made goal in the 52nd minute which led to 0-3. Gethin Bonham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Collen Huddleston in the 56th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jones Farran during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th minute, Collen Huddleston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Puddlemere United getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Padrig Potter hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute Rhodri Hanley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heulyn Chadwick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75th play minutes Padrig Potter shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Heulyn Chadwick and just under the crossbar into goal. Padrig Potter struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Heulyn Chadwick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puddlemere United. Heulyn Chadwick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rhodri Hanley in the 96th minute of play. Puddlemere United played a much better game than Cardiff and deserved their victory. The Cardiff players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
