After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Ofydd Doney managed to get in a good position for a shot. Llangollen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ofydd Doney was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garnock Gilboy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 6 played minutes Llangollen got a freekick which was hit by Ofydd Doney. Ofydd Doney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Garnock Gilboy made a huge save. Olwydd Farley hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Tomos Chaston hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the game, Drystan Hynes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ely's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Llangollen the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Ely was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Drystan Hynes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olwydd Farley in the 28th minute of play forced Llangollen's goalkeeper Deiniol Garrity to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garnock Gilboy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ofydd Doney in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Llangollen's goal looked a bit too open when Olwydd Farley came free, but Deiniol Garrity reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Ofydd Doney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Llangollen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ofydd Doney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dillan Keegan struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Garnock Gilboy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Llangollen. Ely's Garnock Gilboy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Ely from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Ely's zone, Ofydd Doney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garnock Gilboy came out of the goal and Ofydd Doney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 45 in the game by Ofydd Doney from a close distance when the talented Garnock Gilboy managed to make a qualified save. Ely's players were relieved. Llangollen's Deiniol Garrity played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Llwydeu Colville in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ofydd Doney stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Ofydd Doney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Llangollen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ofydd Doney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ofydd Doney struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Garnock Gilboy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Llangollen. Dillan Keegan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garnock Gilboy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dillan Keegan's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Ofydd Doney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deiniol Garrity made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Drystan Hynes sent off a good shot on target. Ofydd Doney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72nd minute, Ofydd Doney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olwydd Farley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deiniol Garrity having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Llangollen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Griffin Wheelwright to maneuver through the defense. If Dillan Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ely's zone, Dillan Keegan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garnock Gilboy came out of the goal and Dillan Keegan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Garnock Gilboy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ofydd Doney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garnock Gilboy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dillan Keegan in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Ofydd Doney cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Garnock Gilboy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that Llangollen were the better team. Llangollen's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
