Bedwyr Freeman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With his leg Bedwyr Freeman managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Newtown Utd's Clust Bowie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Clud Harvey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the game, Hywel Hallett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newtown Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Port Talbot the free kick. Hywel Hallett hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Greid Hickey scored 1-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cynbal Chandler, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown Utd's zone, Greid Hickey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cynbal Chandler came out of the goal and Greid Hickey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greid Hickey in the 39th minute of play forced Newtown Utd's goalkeeper Cynbal Chandler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tremayne Cotter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cynbal Chandler having to interfere. After some careless play in the Newtown Utd defense, Greid Hickey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cynbal Chandler. The Newtown Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cynbal Chandler should have stopped the shot. If Greid Hickey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tremayne Cotter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Erbin Hanauer fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Bedwyr Freeman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clud Harvey in the 69th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Clust Bowie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bedwyr Freeman was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. The Port Talbot players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
