Bogart Foster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ol Bellew having to interfere. Neath's Gwalchmei Hamm got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Llwydeu Bellew who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Caradawg Connery when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 18th minute Bogart Foster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ol Bellew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bogart Foster scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ol Bellew, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Caradawg Connery made an important save on a dangerous shot by Llwydeu Bellew in the 24th minute. The supporters of UWA Cardigan booed when Neath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reese Harley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Llwydeu Bellew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Cardigan's zone, Bogart Foster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ol Bellew came out of the goal and Bogart Foster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the game, Rhisiart Day was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neath's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Cardigan the free kick. Llwydeu Bellew could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Caradawg Connery made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, Gwalchmei Hamm notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of UWA Cardigan's Ol Bellew. Ol Bellew was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

52 minutes into the game, Cas Catton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UWA Cardigan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Neath the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, UWA Cardigan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cas Catton to maneuver through the defense. Bogart Foster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ol Bellew tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Bogart Foster had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ol Bellew. UWA Cardigan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bogart Foster was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After having played for 71 minutes, Bogart Foster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bogart Foster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bogart Foster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 minutes of play, Neath's Bogart Foster made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ol Bellew was left in no man's land by his defense there! Caradawg Connery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Llwydeu Bellew, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes, Pwyll Cordwainer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Neath and the UWA Cardigan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Neath was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pwyll Cordwainer to maneuver through the defense. Llwydeu Bellew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Cas Catton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UWA Cardigan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Llwydeu Bellew in the 96th minute of play forced Neath's goalkeeper Caradawg Connery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Neath eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
