When Neb Hugh fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cardiff Utd's protests and gave Neb Hugh a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of UWA Presteigne booed when Cardiff Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neb Hugh didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kynlas Creagh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Colwyn Garland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amhar Loane was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colwyn Garland in the 22nd minute of play forced UWA Presteigne's goalkeeper Amhar Loane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to UWA Presteigne getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Steffan Leaper hit a great ball. If Kynlas Creagh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Gwern Bradley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cardiff Utd's Jones Little was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jones Little took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffan Leaper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UWA Presteigne were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Cardiff Utd's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Powell Cunningham took the corner. The corner ended in Powell Cunningham almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cardiff Utd's Jones Little did a great save. Gwern Bradley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jones Little having to interfere. Anwir Gee kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of UWA Presteigne booed when Cardiff Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerallt Lea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kynlas Creagh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Gwern Bradley made the kick off in the second half. Jones Little showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwern Bradley, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Cardiff Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Gwern Bradley came free, but Jones Little reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cardiff Utd getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Anwar Chase hit a great ball. Amhar Loane made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Myrddin Linkletter sent off a good shot on target. When Myrddin Linkletter came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cardiff Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Myrddin Linkletter couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the game, UWA Presteigne's Kynlas Creagh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jones Little made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwern Bradley in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jones Little prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gwern Bradley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Renfrew Flannagan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, UWA Presteigne's Powell Cunningham tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
