With his leg Govynyon Andrew managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when UWA Prestatyn's Malvern Ellen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of UWA Treorchy booed when UWA Prestatyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modred Bonham didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Malvern Ellen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Malvern Ellen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Govynyon Andrew read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Govynyon Andrew made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ceithin Gibb in the 33rd minute. Evrei Colston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomos Garnett, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Malvern Ellen managed to get in a good position for a shot. UWA Prestatyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Malvern Ellen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Govynyon Andrew breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute, Ceithin Gibb made a precise shot to the right of Govynyon Andrew. UWA Treorchy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ithel Joel in the 43rd minute of play forced UWA Prestatyn's goalkeeper Evrei Colston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UWA Treorchy's Govynyon Andrew proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save UWA Treorchy from getting a goal against them. After having played for 95 minutes, Malvern Ellen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UWA Prestatyn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Malvern Ellen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
