After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Anir Cowen managed to get in a good position for a shot. UWA Flint's supporters rose to their feet, but Anir Cowen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baudwin Dell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Naw Fletcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gethin Gibbons having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Siencyn Christian to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, UWA Flint's Gethin Gibbons got control of the ball when Siencyn Christian tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 55 minutes of play, Neath's Hydd Blackadder made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cai Burgess's late challenge caught a Neath's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cai Burgess helped the player get up and apologised. Cai Burgess hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match.
