Spectators: 6781 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 0) Rhyl's Kevyn Henry started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Ely FC booed when Rhyl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lavaine Gaynor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwydion Francom, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Rhyl's goal looked a bit too open when Galahad Fabian came free, but Gwawl Potter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gwawl Potter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Galahad Fabian in the 8th minute of play. Gethin Laurence's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Gwawl Potter skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gethin Laurence hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 18thth minute of the game Selyf Canning who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ely FC's Irvin Billing was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 21st minute, Selyf Canning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Casnar Boltinghouse hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the game, Rhys Hehir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rhyl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ely FC the free kick. Rhys Hehir kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Rhyl's goalkeeper Gwawl Potter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gethin Laurence. If Galahad Fabian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Rhyl's Gwawl Potter got control of the ball when Gethin Laurence tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 minutes, Casnar Boltinghouse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ely FC and the Rhyl players grew even worse after the yellow card. Casnar Boltinghouse kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Galahad Fabian made a kick off. Gethin Laurence fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gwawl Potter having to interfere. Gwydion Francom's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Gwawl Potter - 1-0 was put on the score board in the 57th minute. Selyf Canning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes Ely FC got a freekick which was hit by Puw Crocker. Gwawl Potter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Galahad Fabian in the 69th minute of play. Selyf Canning who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Irvin Billing when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rhyl's Kevyn Henry got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rhys Cupp charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rhys Cupp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ely FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Rhyl's Berth Linkletter got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Irvin Billing. Galahad Fabian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gwawl Potter having to interfere. When Galahad Fabian came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ely FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Galahad Fabian couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute of the match Rhys Cupp shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gwawl Potter showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Galahad Fabian struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Gwawl Potter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ely FC. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
