Spectators: 6766 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trent Conyers started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Newtown Utd's goalkeeper Ermid Fabian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Accalon Lett. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trent Conyers in the 6th minute of play forced Newtown Utd's goalkeeper Ermid Fabian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Accalon Lett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermid Fabian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trent Conyers in the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown Utd's zone, Trent Conyers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermid Fabian came out of the goal and Trent Conyers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trent Higginson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwyr Hooper, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Accalon Lett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermid Fabian having to interfere. Accalon Letts short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Ermid Fabian to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Anwir Julien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Anwir Julien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trent Higginson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Trent Higginson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anwir Julien in the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anwir Julien made a kick off. Gwyr Hooper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. UWA Porthcawl's Trent Higginson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anwir Julien in the 59th minute of play. Trent Conyers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ermid Fabian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, UWA Porthcawl's goal looked a bit too open when Anwir Julien came free, but Trent Higginson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, UWA Porthcawl's Trent Conyers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ermid Fabian made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. The audience was convinced that Trent Conyers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ermid Fabian was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After having played for 89 minutes, Gwyr Hooper managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newtown Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gwyr Hooper was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Newtown Utd players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for UWA Porthcawl.
