Gwawl Potter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cairn Francom's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. UWA Montgomery's Anir Brigham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevyn Henry in the 23rd minute of play. Rhyl were furious when Ieuan Brewster was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Selyf Canning to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, UWA Montgomery's Meurig Tucker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gwawl Potter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 53rd minute, Cairn Francom made a precise shot to the right of Gwawl Potter. Rhyl's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. If Meurig Tucker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The UWA Montgomery fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when UWA Montgomery's Meurig Tucker looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cairn Francom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Morgan Harley during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cairn Francom in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gwawl Potter saved Rhyl from getting behind. After having played for 94 minutes, Lloyd Hayhurst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UWA Montgomery's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lloyd Hayhurst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UWA Montgomery fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rhyl had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
