After a defensive mix-up in Newtown Utd's zone, Meurig Tucker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermid Fabian came out of the goal and Meurig Tucker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, UWA Montgomery's Anir Brigham got control of the ball when Gwyr Hooper tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cairn Francom blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ermid Fabian having to make a save. When Anwir Julien came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Newtown Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anwir Julien couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the match, UWA Montgomery's Meurig Tucker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ermid Fabian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind UWA Montgomery's goalkeeper Anir Brigham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Marrock Davee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Marrock Davee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anir Brigham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Weyland Crabtree took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ermid Fabian. Newtown Utd's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gwyr Hooper got free with Anir Brigham in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, Newtown Utd's Anwir Julien dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. With a little luck, UWA Montgomery's Anir Brigham got control of the ball when Gwyr Hooper tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anwir Julien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cairn Francom to make the kick off. Meurig Tucker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ermid Fabian having to make a save. The supporters of UWA Montgomery booed when Newtown Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marrock Davee didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cairn Francom in the 56th minute of play forced Newtown Utd's goalkeeper Ermid Fabian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Prydwen Bishop was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newtown Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UWA Montgomery the free kick. Prydwen Bishop hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Cairn Francom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ermid Fabian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62ndth minute of the game Cairn Francom who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newtown Utd's Ermid Fabian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Meurig Tucker struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ermid Fabian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UWA Montgomery. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Newtown Utd:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UWA Montgomery:s goal. When the match had been going on for 69 minutes, UWA Montgomery's Wren Eliss got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ermid Fabian. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Gwyr Hooper managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Gwyr Hooper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anir Brigham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77th minute, Meurig Tucker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anir Brigham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anwir Julien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Newtown Utd booed when UWA Montgomery was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevyn Bonham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meurig Tucker in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ermid Fabian, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Anwir Julien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Anir Brigham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kevyn Bonham's late challenge caught a Newtown Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevyn Bonham helped the player get up and apologised. Anwir Julien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 100th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
