In the 37thth minute of the game Berth Biss who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bridgend's Edmyg Crittall was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute Berth Biss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmyg Crittall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes in the game, Llyr Hussey fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Iowerth Finnegan having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Guinglain Carmichael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barry and the Bridgend players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Barry got a freekick which was hit by Guinglain Carmichael. After the first half Barry were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tad Golding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Edmyg Crittall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Bridgend getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Maelgwn Keane hit a great ball. The Barry supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barry would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
